Anyways, a lo que vinimos. From a podcast that could not be more timely (English) to the collaboration between two badass dominicanas (in Spanish), here are some of the stories and content you should not miss from October.
Have You Watched Modern Love?
If you have yet to read a dying’s wife dating profile for her husband on Modern Love from the NY Times, we suggest you start there before watching this show. Not only because it is an incredibly touching read, but also because it sets the tone for the stories told on Amazon’s latest original series.
While we have loved the stories, it did pain us to see the lack of women of color in its leading ladies, as said in this Medium piece by writer Nylah Burton.

Caring is Sharing
How does sharing experiences impact our happiness? Do photographing your experiences make them better, worse or it depends? These are some of the questions Dr. Laurie Santos, a Yale professor, explores in this episode of her podcast, The Happiness Lab.
The podcast is based on Laurie's popular happiness course, where she shares "science-backed happiness strategies to help you live your life to the fullest." After all the discussion we had on Mixta about social media this month, you may wanna find out what science says about all these Instagram posts we're making.

#LaGranPregunta se encuentra con Jompéame
En el episodio más reciente de #LaGranPregunta, la abogada, periodista, comentarista y activista (!!!) Carolina Santana entrevista a Katherine Motyka, CEO de Jompéame, “un serrucho en línea para causas de pobreza y emergencia” —como ella lo define—. Que emocionante ver a estas dos dominicanas dignas de admirar colaborando en esta entrevista, donde tocan temas como las causas que apoya Jompéame, las dificultades que se han encontrado en el camino, y el poder de la solidaridad.

Moda Santiaguera en Vogue México
Dominicana Moda 2019 concluyó recientemente, y no se pueden imaginar la emoción del equipo de Mixta al ver que la colección primavera verano SS20 de Camila Casual, una marca Santiaguera, fue destacada por Vogue México.
