Founded in 2014 under the name of Hola, Rita, we published personal essays and interviews we never saw in mainstream media. Since then, the team and the vision have grown into an evolving media company that produces poignant, smart, and funny content for women. 

Our latest project is a bi-weekly newsletter titled El Chisme, where our team of contributors shares personal stories, relevant news, and social commentary. It’s chisme, pero del bueno. You can support us by subscribing here.

Carmen is the Founder of Mixta. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, she is a writer, marketer, and community builder. She currently works in tech and lives in California.

Lea is our Managing Editor. She makes sure that Mixta's vision is realized in every process and publication. With a background in Psychology, Communication, and Human Resources, her purpose is to make work better for people’s lives. She currently works at a tech company in the Dominican Republic.

Alexa Ceara

Alexa is our Content Editor. She lived 5 years in Mexico, 10 years in Buenos Aires and now she is back on the island where she was born. She is a phonoaudiologist, works in communication, science, and art company, and has her own freelance business (Alexa, sin i).
